...A New Look and Arthritis Tip...

I hope you like the new look of this blog. All the orange it had before was getting hard on my eyes, so I know it had to be affecting my readers as well.

Now for that Arthritis tip:
I found this works for Osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid Arthritis. I think you can find this product at any Therapeutic Supply and Services Company. For sure at 1924 Cliff Valley Way, Atlanta GA. 30329.
Eucalyptus ointment in the form of a thick, oil-based product called Eucalypta-Mint.
Just apply the ointment to the affected area then wrap in plastic wrap. To heat the area lay warm moist towels over it. If it's your hands or feet soak them in warm water instead. This ointment and heat treatment works for my elderly Aunt everytime she has a flare up.

... Insomnia ...

"Oh boy!" Another one of those days very long, and it has left you dead tired." Yet you lie in bed, wide awake in the middle of the night. Don't feel alone. I think just about everyone goes through a touch of Insomnia these days. So what do you do about it, in a natural way?

1. Some use meditation - I find this works best for me. Doing a search on meditation will bring to light all kinds of methods to do this.

2. Some use exercise for the mind. They do this by taking about 10 minutes or so before bedtime to plan the next days activities, and solving perspective problems by putting them in their place for the night. Then when your in bed with it all rushing through your mind shut it all out by saying I've already dealt with all that and know what I'm going to do about it.

3. Don't turn you bed into an office or a den. Keep your bed for sleep. So that your mind will automaticly be ready for sleep instead of problems and work.

...Ouchie...Bursitis...

Let one of these little sacs of fluid called bursae stop working, and you'll know just how painful the condition called bursitis really is. You have 8 of these little sacs around each shoulder, 11 around each knee, and as many as 78 on each side of the body.
What these little sacs called bursae do is ensure the smooth, frictionless working of the body's many joints. Compared with joint diseases like arthritis, bursitis is an ugly stepsister waiting for a date...lol...and meaner than mean. So here is some tried-and-true tips that may bring tempory relief from this painful condition.

1. Rest- The first thing you do with any joint pain is rest that thing.
2. Immobilize and Ice- 10 minutes of ice, 10 minutes of rest. As long as the joint is hot do not apply heat.
3. Attract relief with opposites- If the heat is gone and the pain or swelling are not terribly acute try a combination treatment. 10 minutes of heat then 10 minutes of ice and so on.
4. Count on OTC'S- An appropriate anti-inflammatory medication as long as your not allergic, Asprin is still the best.
5. Become a swinger- If it's the elbow or shoulder try bending forward and supporting yourself with your good arm and hand on a chair. Allow the painful arm to drop downward, then swing this arm back and forth, side to side, and finally in circles both clockwise and counterclockwise.

Now for myself all of these help, but I found that a capsule of ten works best. A time capsule that is, ten days at a time or more. All depending on how bad the injury is. It will take time to heal.

...Chronic Back Pain...

For some people, back pain is an everyday event in their daily life. For whatever reason, it has decided to linger for what seems like an eternity. This recurring pain is called Chronic Back Pain. Where just about any little movement can set it in motion. These few tips are particulary helpful for chronic back pain suffers.

1. Lumber up - Which means get rid of the sag in the middle of your bed while you sleep. A piece of plywood between the mattress and the box spring works great.

2. For a natural anti-inflammatory, try some white willow bark. It can be found in capsule form in health food stores. Best taken after a meal.

3. Drown pain with a waterbed - One that is adjustable and doesn't make a lot of waves. In waterbeds you get equalized change in the pressure on various parts of your body, so you can lie in one position all night.
