...Bladder Infections...

Hey Ladies, have you been spending a lot of time in and out of the bathroom? It just seems you need to go a lot, but when you get there - well, not much happens, and when it finally does it burns oh so bad. Whats the cause? Bladder infections are caused by the bacteria known as E.coli that will take up residence in the vagina and consequently make their way to the urethra, the tube through which urine flows. While in the vagina, the bacteria are no problem. The trouble only starts when they enter the urinary tract. This is a common bacteria that is present in nearly all women. This bacteria will irritate the wall of the bladder like giving your bladder a bad sunburn.

What to do:

1. Drink cranberry juice - This will put burning fire out.

2. Drink lots of fluid - This will keep the bladder well flushed of the bacteria that started it all in the first place.

3. These are signs of something more serious and needs a doctors attention immediately.

a. Blood in the urine.
b. Pain in the lower back.
c. Fever.
d. Nausea or vomiting.

...Tendinitis Blues...

Tendinitis - Inflammation in or around, a tendon - can be painful. Where simple muscle soreness is temporary, tendinitis is soreness that doesn't quit. It's like here today, here tomorrow, here to stay.

Here are some soothing remedies:

1. Give it a rest. If tendinitis is a side effect of your job, it might not be a bad idea to save a day or two of vacation for those times when tendinitis is painfully persistent.

2. Brace yourself - A little extra support and warmth from a flexible brace or wrap.

3. Elevate - raising the affected area is also good for controlling swelling.

4. Strengthen - the affected area with little weights that you can lift at home.

5. When all of the above fail, go over the counter. Anti - inflammatory drugs are effective temporary pain relievers for tendinitis. This will also reduce inflammation and swelling.

...Boils Up-Date...

Lately there has been an out break of boils, and I have come to find out that the majority of this out break is being caused by Staphylococcus bacteria infection. How did I find this out? My eldest son kept getting them repeatly on his back side. Each one was bigger than the other, and very painful. He was even starting to run fever with them. I finally talked him into going to see his doctor. His doctor told him there have been a lot of cases accross the U.S. in the last year. People seem to be picking up the Staphylococcus bacteria like hot cakes. It then enters the blood stream through cuts, mouth, and nose. The body's immune system then sends in white blood cells to kill the invasion. From this bottle debris (pus) is produced. In turn a pus-filled abscess begins to grow beneath the skins surface. Hence the boil swells to an eruption, drains, and subsides.

The only tip for this kind of boil is:

1. Go to your doctor. You need a course of antibiotics to kill the Staphylococcus bacteria.

...Hyperventilation...

Put simply, hyperventilation is "breathing fast," or overbreathing. Anxiety is the most common cause, but if you've never had one before and suddenly start having hyperventilation problems, "you probably should be seen by a doctor." Though it is uncommon it could be connected to something worse than just anxiety, like lung diease, or a blood infection.

Here's a few tips:

1. Breath into a paper bag. Rebreathing into a paper bag will allow the person to replace the carbon dioxide "blown off" while hyperventilating.

2. Sit down, be calm, and relax. You need to slow your breathing. The more tense you are, the faster you'll breath. So relaxing and staying calm is your best bet.

3. Think beyond yourself. Try not to become consumed with thoughts of having another hyperventilation attack, so you won't have another right off.

...Kid's------Bed Wetting------Kid's...

Bed-wetting can be both uncomfortable and embarrassing for a child. Me? I'm just thankful they out grow it in time. Being realistic about it is your best bet. Kids don't do it on purpose, so don't praise them when they are dry or punish them for that matter when they are wet. Just get over it and change the bed, and don't say a word. It'll go away by itself.

Some Tips:

1. Throw the bed-wetting alarms in the trash. Better yet give them away or make toys out of them.

2. Lay some extra night clothes out near by to change into. So they don't feel like a baby.

3. Put a rubber sheet cover over the mattress so even if the sheets have to be changed the bed stays dry, and this will also prevent stains to the mattress.

4. Practice patience and love - Be supportive. They will truly out grow the problem and no kid wants to wet himself. Patience and support is the bottom line.

5. If it happens every night then take your child to his doctor. The doctor can recommend some positive treatments that help.

...Heart Disease...

Are you heart healthy? The experts agree that having a good diet belongs at or near the top of their list for reducing the risk of heart disease. Like foods such as green leafy vegetables that contain vitamin E, and banana's that contain potassium. High potassium diets will help lower your high blood pressure. Which will also reduce your risk of heart disease.

Here are some tips to help you out:

1. Exercise - Regular exercise helps your heart become stronger. Just 3 ten minute periods a day of some form of activity will do the trick. Like walking up and down steps, some brisk walking, swimming, etc...

2. Stop Smoking - After 5 years of giving it up, puts your risk of heart disease on an even line as someone that has never smoked.

3. Good eating habits - from these groups will help to.
* bread, cereals and potatoes
* fruits and vegetables
* low-fat milk and dairy foods
* meat, fish and alternative - beans and lentils.

...Lower Your Risk of Ovarian Cancer...

Can this be done? If you said yes, then your so so right. I have written about the ingredients of Fruta Vida juice many times, and one of it's main ingredients is a green tea called Yerba Mate which provides polyphenols that help block cell damage that can cause cancer. In fact, just like the Yerba Mate the Cupuacu fruit, another main ingredient of Fruta Vida juice also contains polyphenols, and combined with these two is the awesome Acai berry packed with antioxidants, including vitamin C, vitamin E and special phytonutrients called anthocyanins. What does this do with the polyphenols? In simple, gets rid of or stabilizes the free radicals, pollution, toxins in the body so they don't damage your cells.
So what does all this have to do with lowering your risk of Ovarian Cancer? Everything, according to the Sweden Archives of Internal Medicine. A new study they published in December of 2005 says that green tea may be linked to a lower occurance of Ovarian Cancer due to the polyphenols it contains, which block cell damage that can cause cancer.
So ladies starting today drink your Fruta Vida juice. I know I am.
